Thank you for visiting my site! While I am currently a stay at home mom of five, I also am a physical therapist who previously worked to improve the health of my patients by improving mobility and promoting a healthy lifestyle. I am excited to promote health in a new way by increasing ease and access to fresh and local produce and food products!
As a mom, I am passionate about providing my family with healthy and homegrown food products. I also want to be able to encourage local business and farmers to thrive as I know the benefits it has for my community. I firmly believe that offering healthy choices to children fosters healthy lifestyles as an adult. Providing communities and busy families an opportunity to obtain healthy, homegrown food benefits the community as a whole.
Buying local from farms and small businesses is extremely important to our family. We know where our food is coming from, the work that goes into the food reaching our table, and high nutrients it provides to our health. Best of all, it helps with food education with our kids!
Over the past five years, farm bankruptcies in the U.S. have increased at an alarming rate, on average, 11% go bankrupt annually, and recently, in 2019, it was 19%.
According to the World Health Organization, 340 million children and adolescents aged 5-19 were overweight or obese in 2016. In the US alone, the CDC states that 18.5% of youth ages 2-19 are obese. This is estimated to cost the US around $150 billion in health care spending each year.
We are on a mission to revitalize our soil, help the farmers who work tirelessly to provide high nutrient foods to our families, and strengthen the health of our nation that has been manipulated into consuming low nutrient, ultra-processed foods.
Together, we can grow the number of thriving sustainable farms and increase human health and longevity through creating ease in access to high nutrient foods.
